Do you offer a money back guarantee? What way will it work and what are the rules?
Yes. If during the first 30 days as a LowCost Web Hosting customer, we do not provide the services we offer to a satisfactory level of uptime, we will cancel your account and refund your money for that month's service if the reason is VALID. Not being bothered to use a hosting account or being unable to change your dns name servers on your domain name will not be considered valid reasons for a refund. Basically refunds will ONLY be given for a sub standard % uptime provided by us or the downtime of our web site builder.
Is there a minimum time contract/commitment?
Not at all. You pay monthly (quarterly or yearly for a special discount price, please contact billingdept@low-cost-web-hosting.com for our very latest prices). You can cancel your account at any time.
How soon will my account be set up and ready for use?
Account orders are placed in a queue and are processed in the order in which they are received. Each account will be setup in under 12 hours (usually under an hour). Your site can be uploaded to our servers immediately after receiving the confirmation email, which will contain the IP address for your account, plus the password for the username chosen during signup. In fact, we recommend that clients start uploading their site as soon as possible after setup is complete, so that once domain transfer is completed, the site will be available for use by your visitors.
Do I have access to update my site 24 hours a day?
Absolutely. Whether you're a day person or a night owl, your site is available for you to update.
Can you register a domain name for me? Can you set up domains other than .com, .org, and net?
We can register .com, .org, and Net names for $8.49 year, with you as the registrant. We can also assist with registering other domains, as well (fees for registering other domains will vary by country). Please contact our sales department if you require assistance in registering other domain types.
I see some hosts offering "unlimited bandwidth" and "unlimited space" Why don't you offer this?
Its a nice idea isn't it? but the fact of the matter is "unlimited bandwidth" and "unlimited space" does not exist.. period. Someone has to pay for the traffic somewhere - and if you check the fine print of some service agreements from companies who claim to offer unlimited bandwidth, you'll probably find that they do charge for traffic over a certain amount. It's basically "Unlimited" as long as you don't use anything, if you start to use bandwidth or server space the "Host" will find any excuse to delete your account. Any web site is hosted on a hard drive so when you actually think about it, how many times have you seen an "unlimited" hard drive for sale? Any "host" that offers unlimited space or bandwidth should be avoided at all costs !
Do you host Adult sites, warez sites or sites containing illegal material?
No. Please see our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)for policies regarding this.
Is my site backed up and how often?
Yes backups are done daily on all servers. The full backups are placed onto tapes and are stored for one month while the incremental backups are stored onto disk and kept until the next full backup is performed. We would advice you to keep an up to date copy of the site yourself just to be on the safe side. Note: Plesk server backups can only restore the entire server data at once ie a total hard drive failure. We cannot restore plesk single files you deleted by accident. Cpanel accounts will be able to download their own backups from the control panel whenever required and that will be your own responsibility. We also keep an entire backup of Cpanel servers. Always keep a recent backup on your hard drive and backup your mysql database using phpMyAdmin in the control panel. Every web host will advise this and its the smart thing to do !
Do I get my own ip address?
Resellers will be provided with ips for their own name servers. Non reseller accounts will be on a shared ip address and this will include the use of a shared ssl certificate. For non resellers who want to to have a separate ip address which will provide you with the opportunity of having a separate ssl cert. and anonymous ftp please contact setupdept@low-cost-web-hosting.com
Does the monthly hosting fee include a domain registration?
The monthly hosting fee DOES NOT include a free domain name registration although we will assist you in registering a domain if you need help. domains@low-cost-web-hosting.com You can have a hosting account set up for a domain even if you haven't registered it yet but you run the risk of that domain name being grabbed on you by someone else. Also if you have a hosting account set up and have not registered your domain name yet you will have to view your site from a url similar to http://216.40.243.205~tempurl (demo url - not live).
Do you support Frontpage extensions and Asp?
Yes . We support Frontpage extensions 1998/2000/2002 and Asp(for perl module)
How fast are your connections?

What are your server specifications?
Current plesk servers are a minimum spec of 1 GHz AMD machines with 512 mbs of RAM. Cpanel servers are a minimum p4 2.0ghz 512 mbs of RAM.
What is the "SSL certificate link" mentioned on your site?
To sell online via a SECURE cart system taking credit card orders etc. you need the use of a SSL(Secure Socket Layer) certificate. Basically when you purchase online and enter your credit card details look out for the browser url which should start with https(s for secure)and also the key lock icon in the bottom of your browser window. For secure sellers to have these criteria a certificate must be purchased for the domain name which secures the transfer of information over the net e.g.. credit card details. To purchase one of these certificates is around $120+ and they only work for one domain name. With our system you don't need to purchase these certificates. We can set you up your own SSL web space/link. Click HERE for an SSL example url. We provide use of the SSL certificate on all plans above "Package 2" and as a feature to all our resellers. Packages 1 and 2 will have the use of a SSL certificate but this certificate will bring up a certificate warning as the certificate has not been assigned to that particular domain name although it is secure. Having a certificate warning popping up on a payment screen may scare off some customers. Above Package 2 all the plans will have a SSL link/web space they can use and there will be no certificate warning due to the special web user system we use. The use of the SSL certificate is worth at least a $120 value and is a reason in itself to sign for our hosting.
Do I get a temporary url before my domain name propagates?
Yes. You will be able to visit your uploaded web site before it propagates at a url similar to http://216.40.243.205/~yourname
