Definitions of nonvolatile random access memory:
- Random access memory (storage) that retains its contents after the electrical power to the machine is shut off. A specific part of NVRAM is set aside for use by the system ROS for the boot device list.

- Non-Volatile Random Access Memory (NVRAM) is a computer memory chip which will not lose its information when the power is lost. It is mostly used in computer systems to store settings which must survive a power cycle (like number of disks and memory configuration).
