Definitions of anonymous ftp site:

• An Internet host computer that makes certain of its files available to those who log-in as "anonymous", and give their e-mail address as a password. The files usually found at anonymous FTP sites are software packages for various systems, utilities, information, mailing list or usenet group discussion archives. At most FTP sites, the resources are organized hierarchically in directories and subdirectories.
